Bob Ethington was drummer and songwriter for 70’s-80’s Akron new wave band Unit 5. He later played occasional gigs with saxophonist/multi-instrumentalist Ralph Carney, which led to Bob joining Tin Huey, and later Half Cleveland. Other projects include Kinski Spiral, playing jazz with singer Tracey Thomas, the minimalist instrumental WATT, Chris Butler’s Pin 2 Hot, and the “indie dad rock band” Glenn Lazear.
Most reently, Bob has founded the ambient free jazz fusion Robert Ethington Quintet with Terry Hynde, Jacob Trombetta, Gabe Schray, and Steve Clements.
