JEN RICHESON - VIOLIN
Her teacher used to say “When you’re playing [this piece, lock eyes with your audience and play for them. In other words, make ‘em cry.
Classical with an edge. Connecting with the audience. Conveying deeper meaning. Precision. A daily life narrated by music.
Learning violin started at age 3, and hasn’t stopped. Jen loves baroque and world music and really enjoys playing rock and contemporary. “I have always loved navigating the high structure of the classical world, but am drawn to the freedom, fuller expression, and a better performance experience in rock and contemporary.”
Earning her undergraduate in music, “Violin Jen” brings a wealth of ensemble experience with her, ranging from the traditional to contemporary, by way of Kent State University’s New Music Ensemble, Pointless Orchestra, Native American musician and recording artist Michael Searching Bear, and now, as the newest member of Golems of the Red Planet.
